Holiday Weekend Hours

Finally!!!   Some great knitting weather - for a bit at least!

We will be open on Saturday and Sunday our usual summer hours -

Saturday from 11AM to 4PM.

Sunday from 11:15AM to 3PM.

We will be closed on Monday, September 6th, so our volunteers can enjoy their Labor Day Holiday with their families.

We hope you all have at great weekend!!

See you soon at the shop - it is time to get going on those Holiday projects!!

That's right - the bus is booked!

We will be leaving the Weis Market in Emmaus at
6AM for the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, New York to attend the New York
Sheep and Wool Festival - one of the best festivals
in the country!

We should arrive at the festival just about when
it opens at 9AM, and will leave the festival at 4PM.  There will be complimentary snacks on the bus
going to the festival and returning from the
festival, and we should be back in Emmaus by
about 7:30PM.

The cost of the trip - just $49!

Reserve your spot on the bus now by stopping in
or calling the shop.  This bus will fill up FAST, so
don't delay - guarantee your seat!

FIRST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION!!! JULY 9. 10 & 11

In spite of some challenges, it has been a wonderful year since our Grand Opening on July 10, 2009, thanks in no small part to you, our fabulous customers.  Hard to believe the year has gone so fast!!

In order to thank you all properly for your kind and loyal support, we will be holding a FIRST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION on July 9th, 10th and 11th. 

On all three days we will have our Pick-A-Discount Sale where, after you have chosen and we ring up your purchases for the day, you can dip your hand into our jar of discounts and grab a slip of paper that will tell you your discount for your purchase - 15% or 20 % or 25% or 30% or even 40% - and the discount applies to your entire purchase, which means that everything in the shop is on sale!!

You can also enter our drawing to win a wonderful set of Addi Clicks - widely considered to be THE premiere set of interchangeable knitting needles available.  Limited to one entry per person.

Stop by and join our celebration!!  Enjoy the party and partake of our goodies while you shop our wide and varied selection of basic and luxury fibers.  A First Anniversary only comes around once - take advantage of it to stock up on the yarns and fibers you have been coveting all year!

Summer Hours

In order for our wonderful volunteers to be able to enjoy their summer as they should - and since it is, after all, Summer - we will be adjusting our hours starting June 21st to our Summer Hours.

The Summer Hours will be:

Monday - Noon to 8PM

Tuesday and Friday - Noon to 5PM

Saturday - 11AM to 4PM

Sunday - 11AM to 3PM

World Wide Knit in Public Day, Saturday, June 12th

This year, World Wide Knit in Public Day, June 12th, coincides with Emmaus' Best in Bloom Arts Festival.  From 10AM to 4PM Saturday, Emmaus will host 40 visual and performing artists in the downtown area to display their talents and creations amid flowers, dancing, and music.  Merchants and residents of Emmaus have joined forces to flood the quaint borough with colorful flora bursting from gardens and hanging baskets in vibrant seasonal shades.  Bedecked porches, gardens and alleys are adorned with blossoms and blooms that beckon visitors to stroll through the town, enjoy the art and festivities. 

What a perfect time to hold our version of the World Wide Knit in Public Day!!  With the multiple available benches of the Triangle and the surrounding areas, we can show the world our passion for knitting and crocheting, or even spinning.  Come on out, bring your projects and join us for what should be a lovely social occasion!

A New Shop Sample

This is the Mondo Cable Shell/Vest from ChicKnits.  I made it in Skacel Collection's Urban Silk - it took six skeins of the aran weight silk/cotton blend to make a size Medium, and was a quick, fun project.  The Urban Silk gives it great drape, but there are many other yarns in the shop which would do as well for this great summer top.  The pattern is purchasable online for immediate download, so you can get started right away.  i would do this pattern again in a minute!

Snow Days Are Coming!

Snow days are excellent knitting days.

In view of the 12 - 18" of snow predicted for Thursday - Friday, I will open the shop on Wednesday from about 2PM until about 8PM or so. 

Come on in to pick up your supplies to get you through this next (and hopefully last!!) snowstorm.

Great American Afghan Knit-Along

Just a reminder -

There are still a couple of spaces left in the new group for the Great American Afghan Knit-Along.

                                   

The first session for this group will meet in the shop from 7 - 9 PM on Wednesday, February 10.  You need no supplies in advance for this session, as yarns and color choices will be discussed during this first session.

Following sessions will meet in the Conference Room of the 860 Broad St. building every other Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 PM. 

The cost per session is $10, cash or check.
