It's the story of my life.
I got the keys to the store on Friday. All was well and good.
Then I called the borough hall to see what I needed to do to get my business license. The first question I was asked was "Where is the bathroom located in the store?"
The answer - "In the basement."
Not good enough. It seems there is a misunderstanding about handicapped regulations and grandfather clauses that exists between the landlord and the borough officers which was unable to be worked out by the end of the day Friday, so things are on a temporary hold for the bathroom work that was to be done. And I'm sure it will be worked out quickly. But you just knew there would be a glitch, and that it would be on a Friday so that nothing could be done about it until Monday.
This should not be a surprise to me. It is part of God's plan to teach me patience that has been a major theme of my life.
So, in the meantime, it's not like I don't have about a million things I can be doing otherwise. And I am. Yesterday I took the measurements that I had made at the shop and laid everything out on graph paper, trying to plan where things might go and how much I will need to buy from IKEA (a lot!). Today I will hit Home Depot hard, so the paint will be ready for the contractor whenever he needs it, and the ceiling fans will be available for installation. Tomorrow I will be at the shop all day, meeting with a yarn company rep., waiting for the UPS guy to deliver some yarn, waiting for the insurance guy to bring the papers for me to sign, and doing a little paint work myself on the basement door and the ledge that lines the front display window.
It all will be good.
Just wait until all the IKEA stuff shows up. Aiiiyeee!!

Hey cuz, never a dull moment...things will work out...take a XANAX and chill for a little

God's plan to teach me patience included knitting and frogging. It was also part of the plan to teach me that if I want something bad enough I will make it happen for myself.
